So my girlfriend and I were channel flipping the other day, and the description for some episode of a crime show, I forget which one, Law & Order or Cold Case or something, was “Unattractive woman is murdered”. Which led to three thoughts:
1. Was the regular caption guy sick that day?
2. I sure hope that it wasn’t one of those “based on a true story” crimes. If it was, maybe they should send the caption guy to graffiti “she was ugly anyway” on her tombstone.
3. How does the casting process for a character who is defined by her ugliness work? “I know you were reading for the princess role, but we really think you’re best suited for playing her butt-ugly friend”? Or do they go out and recruit ugly women the same way modeling agencies recruit hot women? Inquiring minds want to know.
